Dr. Heather Smith

Hello, my name is Dr. Heather Smith and I am thrilled to be part of the North Creek Pet Hospital team as a practicing veterinarian and managing doctor. I'd like to share a little about my background and vision with you. I moved to the Seattle area with my family in 1990 when my father accepted a job with Boeing. I graduated from Redmond High School and then went on to earn my Bachelor's degree in Zoology from the University of Washington. I completed my DVM degree and graduated magna cum laude from Washington State University in 2003. I am lucky to be one of those people who is happy regardless of the annual Apple Cup outcome! I share my life with my husband, 2 teenage children, a rambunctious little Boston Terrier named Betty Bean, and a dopey, but oh so lovable Boxer named Gil. When away from work I enjoy running, watching TV and movies, traveling, and watching my children play sports. I also do quite a lot of "chauffeur work" to and from my kids’ practices and games! My family and I call the neighborhoods around North Creek Pet Hospital home. I am excited to be practice in my own backyard and hope to remain as part of our community and this clinic for many years to come. I have been practicing on the Eastside since graduation and have had the opportunity to work in several different types of practices. I began my career at this very hospital working under its founder, Dr. Jon Bruhn. After a year, I moved on to gain different practice experiences, and I am excited to bring this varied experience and knowledge back with me to North Creek Pet Hospital. I strive to provide excellent medical care with compassion, and to treat all my patients as if they were my own. I tackle veterinary medicine using a team approach where my clients and I work together to figure out these amazing pets that trust us to care for them. I am really looking forward meeting all of you, my teammates, and to helping you care for your furry family members!
